A fine art conceptual photography project about the guidelines of a passport photograph.
This project formed from the brief of 'Vision and Knowledge', is a response to an 'Imagined Community', which is focused on the subject of identity and rules.
'The rules for passport photographs come across as over-specific, ridiculous and try to strip a person from any cultural or chosen identity, which they want to express or choose to make their own.' (Zoe Mills 2012)
From this, a self-portrait project was created, with a serious comment on identity and passport photographs, but a playful presentation when disobeying each rule.
